Topic: The difference between managing an Leading – People leave managers, not jobs. With the shortage of technicians in our industry it is vitally important to hang on to the good ones. Studies show that the top reason most people leave organizations is because of their managers. We will be discussing ways to improve relationships with your employees in a fair and consistent manner that is in-line your respective companies beliefs and values. Behavior is a choice…..we choose to behave the way we do!
Speaker: Luke began his career in 1994 as a technician with Walmart in Palestine TX. He quickly moved up into a Supervisory role, management. He transferred to dispatch operations in 2006 and remained there until 2008 when he left the company to pursue other interests. In 2008, he accepted a position at Scandrill Inc. where he assumed the role of HR Manager then Director of Safety. After the decline in oil and gas that took place in 2015, Luke and his family re-joined Walmart Transportation here in Grove City, Ohio where he is responsible for 40 technicians, 170 tractors and 1380 trailers.
